"travel related call and we will back shortly"
then it prompts you to enter your phone number.
"If you don't enter your phone number, you will be disconnected."
This number called me and I missed it (must have hung up after first ring). I called back and it said that this is a Travel Related Call and they would call back shortly. To be removed from their list, press "1". Naturally, I didn't press it.
I did a reverse phone number look-up, and found that"(206) 462-1796 is a Cell Phone and not available", and that it's in Seattle, Washington (I'm Canadian--206 area codes mean little to me).
Received a call in Spanish advising me that I had won $500, and that I should press "1" to claim my money. I'm not sure what pressing "1" would have accomplished but I just stayed on the line; they eventually hung up.
I got a call in Spanish announcing that I had won $500, and pressed 1, just for fun. Waited a few moments and, after some music, someone actually started talking: "You just won a four days/three nights family vacation to Orlando, FL and a coupon book valued at $500". This person asked for my age and, when I requested what company he represented, he hung up.
This is obviously a scam. Beware!
This call came in on my cell phone. Another site where I looked up this phone number, callercomplaints.com, said that this number is "spoofed": "Caution, 206-462-1796 is a 'spoofed' number, which means that whoever called you 'tricked' your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number." Glad to see a translation of the Spanish on here. I hung up after "felicidades" but I probably wouldn't have understood the rest anyway.
This is an automated message, and when I dialed the number, a person cursed at me
when I told her that I'm not interested in their offer. It was really shocking that these
phone scammers can invade us and disrespect us just like that. I wish there's a way to stop this low life people.
