It was a recording claiming to be the IRS and that they were going to take me to court, though it never gave my name or said who this call is was for. The message then went on to tell me to call them back at their corporate number and gave me the same number. Other people need to be aware; the IRS does not call they will send you something in the mail if they truly are auditing you. Also, they audit you before they ever consider court, so don't let this worry you it is nothing but a scam.

I got one of those calls today also. So did another family member. Robo call. As the other poster stated, the IRS sends letters. They do not call you. I also received this recording last year at tax time. They are trying to get you to call back and get your personal info. Ignore it--it's a scam!
