I filled out an application for a scholarship application, and immediately after pressing the submit button, I get a call from 877-705-6459. These people call themselves college or academic advisers. When they call me, they thank ME for calling THEM, when they are obviously the ones calling me.
They called me again today, so I called back several times. For two times, all I got was the automated message and then the garbled background noise afterwords. Finally, on the third time, I got the automated message, but I finally got a hold of a guy named Richard or something. He asked how may he help me, and I asked if I could get my number removed from this list. He said yes.
If that number ends up calling me again (or if they hopefully stop calling), I will make mention of it here.
I got the same experience. I applied for a job and immediatly got a call from this number and nobody was on the other end. The "caller" hung up after 11 seconds. Lame. I'm in bad need of work and the only responses I get are from scammers! :-(
