Received garbled, truncated robo-type voice mail on my landline phone about receiving something (maybe a notice?) from a company. Several company names were mentioned; only name I recognized was Navient, a known student loan servicer and unpaid debt collector. Caller, a female, said I didn't have to do anything to participate. I Have not been able to find out anything about the telephone number or the caller ID IPC. Sounds like a new scam related to school/college debt forgiveness. Beware. Don't know why she called my number, except that person who had my telephone 10 years ago owed money to a utility and Navient kept calling me to collect. Guess they still haven't updated their records. Gets old real fast!
This number has been leaving me text messages for several weeks regarding a supposed painting job. They don't know my name or location. I never respond. My phone is too old to have a blocking feature. This is annoying. I suspect some type of fraud.
A person from this number told me they were calling from the Department of Justice and my SS # had been compromised. They left a message stating the last four #s of my SS# and told me to call back. It was a person with a thick accent and it sounded suspicious. I have not called back yet.
This is a job scam, this person claims to be a Robert Scanlon which I suspect is a fake name. He uses an outlook email address and seems to like to use texts and Microsoft teams to message his targets. He may also change his identity so be watchful of all the telltale signs like bad spelling errors, grammar, domain used, Linkedin identity, and company link and domain linking back to official website.
I didn't want to pick up the number because I've been getting a bunch of potential spam calls out of the blue. This one did not say spam call, but I find it hard to believe a number is just called "Law Offices."
They call but dont leave a message, once there was a blank vm left on my phone. When you call it back you are told you will be recorded and then hold with music, then get a vm prompt saying they are Empowering Maryland. I have not left a message, nor been able to talk to a real person to verify this.
This phone #text me my name and address . I don't know why. I have no idea how they got my name , address . I wish this site was good enough to tell me who it is. But they don't know either and it's their job. Crazy.
