robo call saying that they are a locator service and looking for xxx. The name they gave was mine. the recording gives their number and says to call them. it also says that by law they are required to contact my references??? This doesn't make sense. I do not owe anyone any money and have lived at the same address for more than 20 years so if someone was trying to find me it would be quite easy.
Four calls came to me from this number. The first at 4:21 this morning and the most recent at roughly 7:30 pm. The caller was male. I didn't recognize the voice at all, it seemed mildly distorted as if from a rough connection and he seemed very angry and screamed at me before hanging up on the most recent call.
This caller aggressively called me at a "Federal Do Not Call" number, without identifying caller name nor business, looking to get "financial information" and refused to state a reason, nor a right to either sell, or collect(the caller refused to identify either reason, nor state a name even though the number called is on a Federal Do Not call registry.Phishing for information and purported ID and financial info fraud is a federal crim.
Received a recorded message stating that the IRS was going to freeze my bank accounts and any other incoming money if I didn't call them back to straighten this out. IRS sends letters out first, not recorded messages with barely any information, so I knew this was a scam.
Started a computer assistance and turned into an obscene phone call. Making lode, suggestive comments to my wife then stating I should sell my wife to him for a night when she handed me the phone. He became upset when I told him he would have to pay me to take her back. I then asked him if he would like help with his problem and that I knew of some therapists that could help and asked him if I could give them his number. I then questioned him about the background noise and asked if he was at a friends house. I told him if I did a reverse number look-up and gave it to the police his friend would get mad and he shouldn't blame him if he did because it was the callers fault, not his friend. He gave up after 20 +/- minutes of this and hung up.
703-659-8495 called my Arlington, VA home while I was away. The ID said Manasses, VA. Since it was a Virginia number, I returned to call to get a voice message saying to stay on the line for a representative. Obviously, a scam or someone trying to sell something. I hung up and will not answer should they try to call again.
Robocaller makes threats and requests a return call. No one answers so you are supposed to leave a message. If you do, they call you back to try and extort money.
I responded with "Excuuuuuse ME?"
