"John" from "Home Energy" called at 6:30 this morning to tell me he couldn't make our appt today and he was calling because his email was down. I did not have an appt with John from Home Energy today or any day. I hung up on him.
Unknown female caller says she's going to come over to my house "at 7," then states my correct address. Also called my wife. She hangs up when asked who she is. Wife is really freaked out.
Received call from this number yesterday. Asking to speak to my mother in law. I stated she was unable to talk on the phone due to deafness. Cont. on to say that I was her daughter and before I could finish, was rudely hung up on. Don't know what kind of business you run but you need a more competent receptionist. How rude is that!!
Someone leaves a message stating they are the IRS and to call them back so as to avoid possible criminal charges. I called back thinking this was some sort of mistake and got a message saying to leave your name, social security and contact number. I hung up. I confirmed IRS scams are ongoing on the FTC website. It states that a person saying they are IRS asks for personal information and to not give information out as the IRS contacts persons by mail and IRS employees would not ask you to give personal information over the phone. This phone number appears to be associated with an IRS scam 1-240-949-7533.
They call several times a week. If I pick up they ask for someone (not me) and when I say they have wrong number they've hung up before I finish. If I do not oick up, they leave no message.
