The caller claims to represent Windows and says there is something wrong with my computer. Don't believe them! I've checked with my computer geek and he says they are not for real. They have never had access to my computer and won't unless I follow their instructions an inadvertantly give them access. Don't be fooled. The caller has a thick, hard to understand Indian accent. They called asking for me by my maiden name, so they must have gotten my name off a really old data base.
This guy isn't like other scammers. He will actually answer specific concerns that you have. The way he said things had me suspicious from the beginning, but I was still unsure if he was a scammer. Be very careful when dealing on Craigslist. I use it all the time, but you need to be weary of everyone on there. Always make sure you protect yourself.
I received a call from this number this morning, 21April2012 and a man said it was State Police Assoc of course wanting a donation. If this is an unpublished number how is it that I was able to get it by dialing *69. Also, my number is unlisted and unpublished so how did they get my phone number. I find that the prefix number 282 is from Auburn, NY. Who is using this number?
A call from 315-282-0828 came to me this morning stating they were State Police Assoc of course wanting a donation. I thought it was a scam and was very angry as I have an unpublished/unlisted number. I asked how they got my number and was told it just showed up on a screen. In searching the number I cannot find who owns the number and also that the prefix 282 is an Auburn, NY prefix. Is this a legitimate number and if not who is using it.
I don't asnswer my phone when the number is unknown to me.

Receive two to three calls per day, noone is ever there and when you call them back you get a message "THE PERSON AT EXTENSION 1000 IS NOT AVAILABLE". I am on the no call list and this makes no differance.
Calls several times a day. I don't answer calls that I don't know who is calling. If they don't identify themselves...they have something to hide. That's my opinion. If you want to talk to me show up on ID.

Person keeps sending texts that say we went out on a date. The guy goes on to say he is gay and I should stop denying my feelings for him. He has information about me, where I used to live, etc., so he or she obviously knows me. I would like the name so I can text them back and tell them to stop by name.
They are faxing something to a private home phone number - obviously have been given a wrong fax number to send something to. Please contact them to stop.
got a call from this number, and I didn't answer it, as it is unfamiliar. Probably a scammer, then a 000-000-0000, called a little later, still didn't answer it, a faker trying to still call. Don't answer your phone to either of these numbers.
calls me 3+ more times a day. every time they called no one is there. and one time someone did talk he was saying i won a survey.then asked for my card number. i asked them to never call me again. he laughed then said i want your card number. then repeated over and over give me your card number. he also knows my full name. this is creeping me out because the phone is not in my name and i do not give my number out
These morons (telemarketers)are a plight on society. They get knocked down on dialing land lines and now they are going after cell phones. Someone needs to do something about them. How long is this going to go on? My phone is unlisted and they still get it. Theirs is unlisted and we can not see who they are. How does that work?
The call was from an automated system announcing car insurance. I pressed the button to talk to a person 'cause I wanted to make sure they knew they were breaking the law. When I told the operator that the number they called was on the National Do Not Call List, I kindly requested that they remove the number from their database. This guy actually argued with me that they can still call. No, no they can't! This call was also reported to the National DNC list. Dear Keith - you messed up!
