caller identified himself as a worker for the US federal grant administration. promised $9000 in free grant money. gave 3 choices as to how could receive $. 1. bank account # 2. savings account # or 3. walgreens or cvs pharmacy. then told to call this number
(202) 810-4092 to
receive instructions. Linda Smith (alias I am sure, duh) said to go to store with $250 to send to an unknown address to be sure I am entitled to the grant. I had 15 minutes to go to store and then call her and she would tell me what type of card to purchase in order to receive payment. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.
When you answer the phone, you get a recorded message that is very threatening. If this number is a true business, they should not be able to try to scare or make threats to people. This is just wrong!
Rude man identified himself as Antonio. Persistently calling. Would not state why. Insisted on knowing who he was speaking to. He called me, I did not feel the need to identify myself.
