Received an automated call from “Wells Fargo fraud department “ on 10/20/23 regarding a $500 purchase attempt. Part of the call script said that the attempt was declined and that Wells Fargo would be deactivating our card and sending a replacement in the mail. If we had questions we could call them back. We independently called a local Wells Fargo bank in our neighborhood this morning and they confirmed that this number did not belong to them and there was no suspicious activity on our account.
Caller stated he was from Lennox Air and that they always do an annual heating/ac maintenance. And that they had a special for $60 when it's usually $100. We have never done business with Lennox Air. I caught the caller whispering to someone when I returned to the phone. Suspicious behavior.
This phone number text me acting like the owner of the company I worked for wanting me to do an urgent job for him. It was not his cell #. I haven’t worked there in 6 months! They knew my name , cell# and his name!
i dont know anyone in Minnesota and no idea why they would be calling me in Maine. when i call back, i get a recording that says "your call cannot be completed as the called party declines the request" and i have NO CLUE what this is about. This is my business line, and dont have time for games.
