Like others I have read - they left a message that I had lawsuits pending associated with my ss# and I have to contact them before I am served a summons AT WORK or else I will lose any rights I have in the "fraudulent case". I called back mortified only to get wrapped up in an automated voice mail system where the mailboxes were full and not accepting messages.
Spam- continues to call from" warranty department" about a car I no longer have. Told multiple times to remove my number, but different people continue to call every few weeks.I asked for a supervisor and the girl said she would remove my number. (Never gave me to a supervisor)
this person contacted me through linkedin with a friend request. she offers her number and email " for further correspondence" . she is not in Kansas but in Ohio. Be wary. I smell a scam here.
Said I was guilty of filing a fraudulent tax return, and was to phone them back before they had an arrest warrant issued for me. Never said my name. It was left on voice message system. Man had a foreign accent.
A man claiming his name is "Charlie" has phoned me several times. He tells me my computer is sending messages to their server and he wants to instruct me how to fix this problem on my computer.
This number calls me 4 to 5 times a day. I usually don't answer, but the 2 times I have I got a man with a thick accent saying something about a loan, the 2nd time no one there after a couple seconds I heard 2 loud beeps and could then hear people in the background but no one spoke on the phone. I hung up.
This was "Broker Match" calling about lowering my mortgage rates. Um, I don't HAVE a mortgage. Anyway, I played along as I ALWAYS do, and the operator assured me that I would receive offers from brokerages soon. Less than 5 minutes later, Quicken Loans called from Detroit. 25 minutes later, after getting zero results for my credit score ("Wow, weird - I'm going to have to contact tech support...") using my (completely bogus) SSN, he promised to contact me again. Cool - in the meantime, I filed a complaint with the BBB, against Quicken Loans, for violating the law by disregarding the National Do-Not-Call Registry. Actually, this is the SECOND complaint I've filed with the same office for the same issue. The first time, they promised it wouldn't happen again. If you don't like these calls,in violation of the DNCR, you might want to let Quicken Loans know how you feel...
"Congratulations -due to your excelent record, you can have reduced credit car rates"
