I received several calls from this number saying they are form social security, that I am in trouble with the law. Then they connected me with someone with a heavy accent, who says is an IRS agent, he told me my tax returns are wrong and many non sense things. The point is that they offer to work the problem with some of their lawyers for only a fraction of the many they tell you owe. Put them in jail!!!!
We get calls from this number nearly every day. The caller ID says "area 157" and that's all. No idea who it is or why they are calling. Assume it's a scam.
Caller claiming to be my daughter in custody of a drug gang begging for my help. She and a friend at supermarket, found a bag, opened it, and found much money inside with guns and drugs. The supposed owners captured them, threatened them, needed my help. Asked her for her name, she insisted I was her daughter; I insisted on her name, time spent in this and someone supposed to be a gang member said they had my daughter and her friend and I said what's her name and after two interchanges like this, the voice said kill them and cut off the call.
Robot recording claimed that my social security number has been fraudulently used and if I pressed button I would be connected to an officer that would lime to speak with me. All too often these scan calls come in.
Leaves threatening voice mail if you don't answer with no details. If call back you get a message to leave a message but dies not identify who the box belongs to. No real business

This number (202-455-8888) is legit. It called me to provide a verification code, while I was signing-in to a Customer-Service Review-Request, from a local merchant that I had visited a day earlier.
However, my phone lists it as a mobile number, while phonelookup.com lists it as a landline. Confused yet? Yeah, me too. That is all I know.

Keep getting calls from different numbers. First a pre-recorded message says it's Soc. Sec. and an arrest warrant has been issued (how do they know who answered the phone). I've pressed 1 to talk to agents. When questioned, they hang up. They wanted to know who they were talking to. A gal told me she didn't call me. Technically that is correct, an automated machine called me. At any rate, don't give them any info. Don't even talk to an agent. The message says it's in regards to fraud. I wish something could be done to stop this type of stuff! When they don't get what they want from me, they hang up. You usually hear lots of people on phones in the background and agent has a strong accent.

On February 3rd, I received a text from the above number and all it said was: "This is Steven" I didn't bother to reply. Since I'm close to Medicare age, I figure it was someone just trying to sell me Medicare Supplemental insurance.
